Trilateral Exercise SITMEX-20 concludes in Andaman Sea
Trilateral SITMEX-20 Naval exercise concludes on 22 November in Andaman Sea. The exercise was held for 2 days. The exercise started on 21st Nov 2020. India, Singapore and Thailand Navies participated in the SIMTEX-20 Exercise.
The Exercise is aimed to strengthen the relationship between India, Singapore and Thailand. Due to Covid 19, exercise will be “non-contact, at sea only”. The exercise will enhance the Inter operability between the three Navies and will give an opportunity to learn the best practices from each other. The first edition of SITMEX-20 exercise was conducted in 2019 at Port Blair.
The Indian Navy is represented by Corvettes INS Kamorta and INS Karmuk. The two Naval ships i.e Stealth Frigate Intrepid and Landing Ship Tank Endeavour were represented by Singapore Navy. The Thailand Navy was represented by Frigate Kraburi.
India, Singapore and Thailand Navies participated in advanced surface and anti-air warfare including weapon firings, over two days of intensive joint operations at sea.
