OTA Chennai Passing Out Parade
A spectacular passing out parade at the revered Parameswaran Drill Square of OTA Chennai marked the passing out ceremony of officers of SSC-119, SSC (W)-33 and other equivalent courses. On this momentous occasion, 157 Officer Cadets (including 24 Women) were commissioned in the Indian Army.
In addition 12 Officer Cadets (including 05 Women) from Friendly Foreign Countries successfully completed their training, fostering bonds of camaraderie and cooperation across international borders.
The Passing Out Parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General Johnson P Mathew, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff, New Delhi. He also presented the sword of honour, OTA Gold Medal and other awards to various cadets.


The Reviewing Officer, in his address, lauded the Officer Cadets and OTA staff for their exemplary achievements, exhorting the newly commissioned officers to uphold the cardinal military values of ‘Selfless Service to the Nation’ and steadfast pursuit of excellence in all endeavours.
The Reviewing Officer, Lieutenant General Johnson P Mathew, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff, presented the prestigious sword of honour to Manya M Kumar, the OTA gold medal to Pragati Thakur, the silver medal to Manya M Kumar and the bronze medal to Surjeet Yadav.

Following the parade, the Pipping Ceremony symbolised a solemn vow as the newly commissioned officers pledged allegiance to the Constitution of India and committed to safeguard the nation at all costs.

He congratulated the newly commissioned Officers & their proud parents on the momentous occasion and exhorted the Officers to uphold the highest traditions and ethos of the Indian Army.
The chief guest also paid homage to the Bravehearts in a solemn wreath laying ceremony at OTA Chennai War Memorial. Officer Cadets of Passing Out Courses also joined in paying homage during a solemn ceremony to mark the occasion.
