AFCAT (2) 2023 Notification
AFCAT (2) 2023 Notification. Online applications are invited for the courses commencing in July 2024 for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. Online applications are also invited for NCC Special Entry Scheme (For flying branch). Submission of online application will remain open till 30th June 2023.
Eligibility Conditions:
(a) Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India.
(b) Age: (i) Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry: 20 to 24 years as on 01 Jan 2024 i.e. born between 02 July 2000 to 01 July 2004 (both dates inclusive). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 years i.e. born between 02 July 1998 to 01 July 2004 (both dates inclusive).
(ii) Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: 20 to 26 years as on 01 July 2024 i.e. born between 02 July 1998 to 01 July 2004 (both dates inclusive).
(c) Marital Status: Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of course. Widows/Widowers and divorcees (with or without encumbrances) below 25 years of age are also not eligible.
Educational Qualifications:
(i) Flying Branch: Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and graduation with a minimum of 60% marks.
(ii) Ground Duty (Technical) Branch:
Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and graduation with a minimum of 60% marks.
(iii) Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branches:
Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks.

The AFCAT exam will be conducted in three days as per the following schedule:
Syllabus:
(a) English: Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion/ Filling in of correct word, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary, Idioms and Phrases.
(b) General Awareness: History, Geography, Civics, Politics, Current Affairs, Environment, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Sports, etc.
(c) Numerical Ability: Decimal Fraction, Time and Work, Average, Profit & Loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple Interest, Time & Distance (Trains/Boats & Streams).
(d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test: Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.
