Indian Navy Rescue Operation – Guardian That Evacuated Australian Navy Officer

In today’s blog, we are going to talk about the courage of our own Navy in which they have rescued the Australian Navy Officer.

The blog is based on the recent update that we get from the Headquarters Andaman and Nicobar Command.

The Indian Navy had been remarkable in protecting the country as well as assisting the friendly countries in distress.

It's a pride that the Indian Navy ever since its inception had helped many countries in every possible way.

Like Operation Castor for the Maldives, Operation Rainbow in Sri Lanka, Operation Gambhir in Indonesia, and Operation Sukoon during the Israel Lebanon conflict in 2006, Operation Rahat in Yemen during the 2015 crisis at the country.

• According to the sources, the Indian Navy undertook the medical treatment and evacuation of Australian Navy Officer on 23^rd April 2019.
• The Australian Navy officer was evacuated from HMAS Collins when she was transiting from Chennai to Australia.
• It was reported to the Indian Navy that the Australian Officer developed acute abdominal pain and sought medical evacuation.
• After this incident arrangement were made by HQANC to transfer the patient from the open sea to Indian Navy Hospital.
• INHS Dhanvatari at Port Blair undertook the medical treatment of ailing Australian lady officer.
• The Australian officer was provided with the necessary treatment and was discharged.
• The officer is hale and hearty now to fly back to her country today.

About Andaman and Nicobar Command of India Navy

• It is based at Port Blair in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
• The command is the first and only tri-service theatre command of the Indian Armed Forces.
• It was basically created in the year 2001 aimed at providing strategic importance and dominance of India over the Indian Ocean.
• The command could also be used for rapid deployment of military assets in the region in the time of crisis.
• Moreover provides logistical and administrative support to naval ships which are deployed in East Asia and the Pacific Ocean.
