Officers Training Academy Chennai
In a spectacular Passing Out Parade, a total of 318 Officer Cadets and 27 Officer Cadets (Women) passed out from the Officers Training Academy Chennai. Additionally, two Officer Cadets and two Officer Cadets (Women) from Friendly Foreign Countries (Bhutan and Tanzania) successfully completed their training, fostering bonds of camaraderie and cooperation across international borders.
General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, reviewed the passing out parade comprising cadets from the SSC-121 and SSC (Women)-35 Courses.


He presented the coveted Sword of Honour to Academy Cadet Adjutant Piyush Bisht, for being adjudged as the overall best cadet of the course. Hailing from Garhwal, he also received the bronze medal for standing third in the order of merit. The gold medal for standing first in the order of merit went to Officer Cadet Chirag, while the silver medal went to Battalion Under Officer Pushpindra Rathore.


Addressing the gathering, Lt Gen Katiyar gave an overview of the security challenges being faced by the country across carried frontiers. He exhorted the newly commissioned officers to uphold the highest traditions and ethos of the Indian Army and strive to be exemplary leaders in the future.
This solemn event, steeped in tradition and reverence, marked the culmination of months of gruelling training of the Officer Cadets, transforming them into Officers ready to shoulder the Nation’s trust, heralding their transformation into future leaders of the Indian Army.
