College of Air Warfare CAW – All you need to Know
College of Air Warfare CAW is a premier Tri services training institute of Indian Air Force. The College of Air warfare is located at Secunderabad. The CAW comes under the aegis of Training Command IAF. The motto of CAW is SANGACHDHAUM which means that UNITED WE PREPARE. The present Commandant of College of Air Warfare CAW is Air Vice Marshal S K Jha.
The College conducts various courses and training programs of Joint warfare for the officers of the rank of Flight Lieutenant to Group Captain and it’s equivalent ranks of Army and Navy. The senior level courses are also conducted for the officers of the rank Air Commodore and Air Vice Marshal and it’s equivalent.
The courses of CAW focuses mainly of deployment of Air power. The College traces its history from 1959 established as School of Land and Air warfare located at New Delhi. In the following years, the College was relocated to Secunderabad and came to be known as College of Air Warfare. The first Commandant of CAW was Air Commodore K L Sondhi.

1. Combined Operational Review and Evaluation Program
2. Basic Professional Knowledge Course-Flying
3. Ground Liaison Officers Course
4. Senior Officers Study Period
5. Higher Air Command Course
