Vice Admiral Manish Chadha
Vice Admiral Manish Chadha took charge as Commandant of the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, on Friday, succeeding Vice Admiral C.R. Praveen Nair.
An alumnus of the 78th course of the National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla, Vice Admiral Chadha was commissioned into the Indian Navy on July 1, 1991. A specialist in Communication and Electronic Warfare, he has completed the Staff Course at the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, and the Higher Command Course at the National Defence University, Washington, USA.

His sea commands include the Coast Guard Interceptor Boat CGS-05 and Indian Naval Ships Veer, Kirpan, and Mysore. At the staff level, he has held various operational and administrative positions at the Naval and Command Headquarters.

Vice Admiral Chadha, who was awarded the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2025 and the Vishisht Seva Medal in 2017, was promoted to flag rank in December. He subsequently served as Flag Officer Commanding Gujarat Naval Area, Assistant Chief of Personnel at Naval Headquarters, and Flag Officer Commanding Maharashtra Naval Area.
Before taking charge at INA, he served as Assistant Chief of Personnel (Human Resource Development) at the Naval Headquarters.
