India celebrated its 77th Republic Day with pride, colour, and strength at Kartavya Path, New Delhi. The Republic Day Parade this year was not just a ceremonial march but a powerful visual story of India’s cultural diversity, development journey, and growing defence capabilities.
The central theme of the parade was “150 Years of Vande Mataram”, celebrating the historic song that inspired generations during India’s freedom struggle. The theme beautifully connected India’s past sacrifices with its present achievements and future aspirations.
This year’s celebrations had Antonio Costa, President of the European Council, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, as the chief guests at the parade.
One of the biggest highlights of the parade was the impressive showcase of India’s military power, including advanced weapon systems and platforms used during Operation Sindoor.
This year’s parade saw several first-time appearances, making it even more special. A major attraction of the parade was the tri-services tableau, which showcased replicas of important weapon systems used by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force during Operation Sindoor last year. The tableau reflected strong coordination and joint operational capability among the three services.
Alongside military might, the parade celebrated India’s rich cultural heritage. About 2,500 cultural performers from every state and union territory participated in the cultural performance.
