Structure Of Indian Army:
Training Commands
The Indian Army is divided into 6 operational commands and one training Command each headed by a Lt. General

Organisational Structure of each command:
1. Section – 10 to 12 men
2. Platoon – 4 Sections,headed by lieutenant
3. Company – 4 platoons,headed by major
4. Battalions – 4 to 6 companies ,headed by Colonel
5. Brigades –4 to 5 brigades, headed by Brigadier
6. Divisions – headed by Major General
7. Corps – headed by Lt. Generals
The Army is organized in two parts – Arms and Services
Arms – Arms consist of combat units.
Services – consist of units that provide support,administration,logistics to combat arms.
Arms are of two types:Fighting arms,Supporting arms

Armor
Infantry
Mechanized Infantry
Supporting Arms consist of :
Artillery
Engineers
Army air defence
Army aviation corps
Signals
Services :
Army Service corps
Army Medical Corps
Army ordnance corps
