Direct Entry are also known as technical entries where one does not have to give a written exam to get selected for interview. Shortlisting of candidates is done on the basis of cut off marks decided.
Hence, you need to have a good score in your academics in order to get shortlisted for the interview.
Although vacancies are relatively less in Technical entries. However, they provide an opportunity to appear for the interview directly without worrying of clearing the written exams otherwise
10+2 (TES) Technical Entry Scheme
TES entry is for aspirants who have passed their 12th Exams with PCM.

Firstly, upon shortlisting you will receive a call letter for SSB interview. If you are recommended by the Interview Board, you have to undergo a total medical examination. At this stage if you are declared medically unfit you are sent back. On the contrary if you are declared fit your name will be put in the Merit List.

As per the vacancy, those topping the merit list are called for joining and rest will be merit out.
All your expenses will be borne by the government. Also, You will be provided with all basic necessities wherever required.
You are also liable to receive stipend per month. As a result, it keeps accumulating till your Passing out parade (POP). Lastly, The total sum can be en cashed at the end.
The starting salary as officer will range anywhere around 100k. This is after keeping aside all other benefits and perks.
Promotion through technical entries is no different from other entries. For instance there have been many service chiefs through direct entries. Also, Pay scale and service prospects remains the same.
10+2 Btech Navy Entry
This entry is for aspirants who have passed their 12th Exams with PCM. One can appear directly for SSB interview after being shortlisted based on their academic Marks
