Why The Diffo Bridge In Arunachal Pradesh Is Important For India

The defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on January 18 inaugurated the Diffo Bridge. It is built over the Diffo River in Lower Dibang Valley District in Arunanchal Pradesh. Dedicating the bridge to the nation, she also appreciated the commendable work done by project Udayak, BRO(Border Roads Organisation) in the region. Apart from the ease of people residing in the border areas. It is also important for India from a strategic point of view.

And above all, this will be a all-weather route for our troops deployed on the China border (the McMahon line). BRO started the project in 2011. And even in the harsh terrain and working conditions, BRO completed this strategically important bridge of length 426 m. The construction of the bridge cost Rs 4847.83 lakh. And the Union ministry of road transport and highways funded it.

In the current scenario when India and China have area disputes and also China claims the northern part of Arunachal Pradesh. This bridge is going to be a boon for Indian defence for the fast movement of troops and supplies to the remote region.
