The NCC Connection
One of the most important turning points in Sagar’s journey came when he joined the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
For many young people, NCC provides an introduction to discipline, leadership, teamwork, and the ethos of the Armed Forces. For Sagar, however, it became much more than an extracurricular experience.
It became the beginning of a calling.
During his NCC journey, Sagar had the opportunity to interact with a soldier from the elite Parachute Regiment (Special Forces). The interaction left a deep impression on him.
Hearing about the soldier’s experiences, challenges, courage, and commitment transformed Sagar’s interest in the Armed Forces.
From Inspiration to Determination
Once Sagar decided that he wanted to serve the nation in uniform, he understood that the road ahead would require immense preparation and perseverance.
After completing his education, he stepped into professional life. He worked as an NGO worker and football coach, taking on responsibilities while simultaneously preparing for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination.
Balancing work, responsibilities, physical activity, and competitive-examination preparation was not easy.
But Sagar understood that meaningful goals rarely come without sacrifice. His journey demanded patience. And patience was tested repeatedly.

Success did not come to Lt Sagar Bhadana on his first attempt. He appeared for the selection process multiple times, learning from every experience and returning with renewed determination.
Finally, on his third attempt, his perseverance paid off. He cleared the examination and earned a recommendation at the Services Selection Board (SSB).
