Saluting the Assam rifle contingent

Hello aspirant,

Recently on 15^th Jan 2019 (army day), we witnessed the lady officer leading the parade along with some daredevil stunts performed by a lady officer. Now the Republic day is around the corner, and yet another history will be created as first time all women Assam rifle contingent will march for the very first time. This post is focused on the sheer will power of the women troop and some facts related to this group.

• For the very first time in the history of Assam Rifles and also in the paramilitary, an all-women Contingent will be saluting the President at the Rajpath this Republic Day on January 26.

• This women Contingent is also unique as some of the Mahila jawans are kin of martyred soldiers and recruited on compassionate ground.

• The contingent consists of women of all ranks from riflemen to officer. Major Khusboo Kanwar will lead the Contingent.

• They successfully perform their duties in counterinsurgency in many areas of North East.

• They play a role as a mother and soldier with great compassion to support their family and nation.
