Lt Aishwarya AG Indian Army
Lt Aishwarya AG, 24, from Coorg, Karnataka, was the parade adjutant and lead the Army Air Defence contingent at the 76th Army Day parade, at 11 GRRC Thakur Sheodatt Singh parade ground in Lucknow on January 15.
Daughter of a coffee estate owner Ganesh Aianna, Aishwarya was social media specialist before making into OTA (Officers Training Academy) Chennai and was commissioned in 28 Army Air Defence Regiment in 2022.
She cleared SSB interview in her first attempt and joined the Officer’s Training Academy through NCC Special Entry.
Lt Aishwarya, a BBA graduate, is C certificate holder while she was in NCC. She had worked in two different firms in Bengaluru as social media specialist before joining the army.
Asked what motivated her to join the Army, Lt Aishwarya said, “I was an NCC cadet and had led the march past of the NCC contingent on Republic Day at Delhi in 2017. All this motivated me to be an army officer.”
As a junior wing NCC cadet, Aishwarya attended the RD parade in 2014. She had watched senior cadets march and then dreamt of leading the parade, but she never thought she would get so close to her dream. On 23rd January 2017, an officer came to her and collected her details only to make an announcement later that she was selected to lead the contingent.
During her college days, she wanted to join the Indian Air Force (IAF) as a pilot. However, as time unfolded, she found herself drawn towards a different path. Eventually, she decided to join the Indian Army.
In addition to excelling in academics, she is a national-level field hockey player, proficient speed skater, state-level badminton player, accomplished painter, and skilled at delivering speeches.
