Girls are eligible for Flying Branch in Indian Air Force

Females eligible for flying branch can now apply for the upcoming notifications. It has been seen that females are generally unaware that they can apply for flying branch as short service commissioned officers.

Moreover, It’s not that women in India are totally unknown to aviation. In fact out of the 10,000 commercial pilots in the country, about 12 percent are women. Though the number might seem small, it is significantly higher than the global average of 5.4 percent and surpasses the percentage of countries like France, Japan and US

Eligibility for flying branch

Eligibility willl be the same for both men and women. However women won’t have the permanent commission.

Flying Branch: Academic Qualification –In particular graduates with minimum 3 years degree course in any discipline with minimum 60% marks and have passed math & Physics as a subject at (10+2) or equivalent and B.E/ B.Tech from a recognized University with a minimum of 60 % marks.

Age Limit: 20 to 24 years old as on 01 July 2019 i.e. born between 02 July 1995 to 01 July 1999 (Both dates inclusive).

Minimum height: 162.5 cms Weight Proportionate to the height

When can one apply ? Eligible Girls can now apply for Flying branch in the coming AFCAT 2 notification.
