Some dreams take years to fulfil, and for Lt Mohit Arora, the dream of wearing the Olive Greens took seven years of perseverance, determination, and unwavering faith. During the Passing Out Parade at OTA Gaya, he proudly marched past the Antim Pag, symbolising the culmination of his rigorous training.
Hailing from Phagwara in Kapurthala district, Punjab, Mohit grew up inspired by his father, an ex-serviceman of the Army Postal Service. Watching his father serve in uniform instilled in him a profound respect for the armed forces. This early exposure to military life not only shaped his vision of duty and service but also taught him the value of resilience and dedication. Mohit’s father often shared stories of camaraderie and bravery that only deepened Mohit’s resolve to follow in his footsteps, motivating him throughout his formative years.
A Strong Academic Foundation

He completed his Class X from Army Public School, Kolkata, followed by Class XII from Army Public School, Jalandhar Cantonment. His strong academic performance in these schools set a solid foundation for his future pursuits, highlighting his dedication towards education and personal growth.
He went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physics from Lovely Professional University, graduating with distinction. The challenges he faced during his university years were significant, yet they only fuelled his ambition to excel, preparing him for the demanding path of military training that lay ahead.
His academic performance opened several doors. He secured the 93rd percentile in CAT 2022 and improved it to an impressive 97th percentile in CAT 2023. His performance earned him admission offers from notable institutions such as IIM Amritsar, IIM Nagpur, and IIM Jammu. These achievements were commendable and showcased his ability to compete at high levels, yet Mohit’s heart remained steadfastly aligned with his ambition to serve in the Indian Army, a testament to his unwavering commitment to his long-held dream.
