IMA Passing Out Parade
The President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu reviewed the passing out parade of the 158th Regular Course and the 141st Technical Graduate Course at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun on 13th June 2026.
A total of 515 officer cadets passed out from the academy, including 481 Indian officer cadets and 34 foreign cadets from 16 friendly cadets.
The batch also marked a significant milestone with the commissioning of nine women officer cadets, an important moment for the institution that has trained generations of Army officers since 1932.

A defining moment came in 2021 when the Supreme Court allowed women to appear for the National Defence Academy (NDA) examination. In 2025, 17 female cadets passed out of the NDA, and now nine have passed out of IMA after pre-commissioning training for the Army.
Speaking on the occasion, the President congratulated the officer cadets on the successful completion of one of the most rigorous training programs in the country. She said that their courage and wisdom will be their strengths.

She was delighted to see nine women cadets. She said that this is a watershed moment in the history of IMA. It is not only a milestone in the history of India’s defence forces but also an inspiring example of India’s march towards women-led development. She expressed confidence that many more women cadets would join the Academy.
The chief guest also awarded the meritorious cadets during the ceremony. Academy Cadet Adjutant Vishal Kumar won the prestigious Sword of Honour and the Gold Medal for standing first in the Regular Course.

Academy Under Officer Prince Raj received the Silver Medal for standing second in the Regular Course, while Senior Under Officer Tejas Bhatt won the Bronze Medal.
In the specialised entries, Officer Cadet Hrishabh Mishra received the Silver Medal for the Technical Graduate Course, Officer Cadet Bodh Raj Thapa topped the SCO Course, and Officer Cadet Karan Pandey stood first in the TES Course.

Junior Under Officer Zaif Sadid Alvy was awarded the Best Foreign Officer Cadet trophy after standing first among 34 foreign cadets.
The President said that as Army officers, the officer cadets will be responsible for leading, guiding and caring for the soldiers. They have to lead by example, inspire confidence, and encourage the spirit of teamwork and dedication. By balancing operational effectiveness with the well-being of their soldiers, they will build trust and strengthen the fighting capability of the units they will lead. She said that they are expected to lead from the front, care for their soldiers and uphold the finest traditions of our Armed Forces.
