What is AFCAT (2) 2026?
AFCAT is the written exam that each candidate who aspires to serve in the Indian Air Force as an officer must clear. It happens twice each year, and is a computer-based test (CBT). AFCAT (2) 2026 is the second cycle of the exam.

The second cycle of the AFCAT exam will be held on Saturday, 8th August, 2026. Since only a week is left for the D-day, EdCIL has released several AFCAT (2) 2026 latest updates that candidates must be aware of.
City Intimation
EdCIL conducts AFCAT in several Indian cities, and aspirants can give a list of preferences while filling the online application. Generally, each candidate can enlist five such city preferences, out of which one is randomly allocated to them.
Hence, AFCAT (2) 2026 latest updates start with city intimation. Yesterday, EdCIL informed each aspirant of their examination city through a text message on their registered mobile number. You must check your inbox if you haven’t already and plan your travel accordingly if the exam city is not your first preference.
Please know that this is not the admit card for AFCAT 2026. You will get it a few days before the exam.
Exam Schedule and Normalization
The next in line is the examination schedule. As per the AFCAT (2) 2026 latest updates, there are a total of two shifts on the same day:
- Shift I: 10 AM to 12 PM
- Shift II: 3 PM to 5 PM
