Maulshree, AIR 3,  recommended through NCC Special Entry – 47 (Women) for OTA Chennai. I am Maulshree from Jaipur, Rajasthan. I have done my graduation in Performing Arts (Theatre), English, Psychology and post graduation in Psychology HRDM from Christ University, Bangalore. My father is a civil engineer and my mother is a professor and an NCC officer.

It was my childhood dream to join the Armed forces. I am not from the Army background. It was through my mother and NCC that I got introduced to the world of Army. It is her rank that inspired me to get the rank for myself. As people say doctor ki beti doctor banegi, I had this dream that Major ki beti Major banegi. I am the first person and the first girl from my family to join the Army. I am the happiest to bring stars for my parents.

It is always said that believe yourself and achieve your dreams but not one tells you how difficult it is to hold on to that dream for so long. I had cleared my SSB in the first attempt with 11th rank but I got merit out. In my second attempt I got conference out. I was upset with that and I guess I was feeling that may be I was not good enough and may be I would not be able to stand the competition. But, I had to remind myself why I wanted it in the first place. I realised that my only competition was me. And that made me get back with more strength and determination to achieve what I wanted. I had visualized myself getting in the top 4 in the merit and I started my preparations this time with that promise and vision. I have positive approach towards life and I keep myself balanced in any situation so I guess that’s what helped me clear SSB.

I would like to advice that preparing oneself mentally is more important than any other preparation. Life is tough but so are you. Attract what you want and work for it-  that is the secret.
