OTA Gaya Passing Out Parade

In a landmark event, the Winter Term 2025 Passing Out Parade, marked the commissioning of 161 officer cadets from OTA, Gaya. This ceremony marked the commissioning of the first batch of Short Service Commission (SSC) officers from the SSC (Tech) Men – 62 course and the Women – 33 course, respectively.

State Representation:

  • Uttar Pradesh: Led with 20 male and 4 female officers.
  • Maharashtra: Followed with 19 male and 3 female officers.
  • Bihar: Contributed 4 male and 1 female officer.
    • Madhya Pradesh & Haryana: 12 male officers each.
    • Tamil Nadu: 10 male officers.
    • Himachal Pradesh & Karnataka: 8 male officers each.
    • Rajasthan, Delhi & Uttarakhand: 7 male officers each.
    • Jammu and Kashmir & Punjab: 5 male officers each.
    • Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat & Kerala: 4 male officers each.
    • Assam & Odisha: 2 male officers each.
    • Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Tripura & West Bengal: 1 male officer each.

In the women’s category, officers hailed from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand (2 each), and one each from Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Karnataka.

Ceremony Highlights:

The parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General RC Tiwari, General Officer of Eastern Command, alongside OTA Commandant Lieutenant General Sukriti Singh Dahiya. Lt. Gen. Tiwari addressed the newly commissioned officers, emphasizing the importance of upholding the values, traditions, and ethos of the Indian Army. He highlighted the significance of compassion and professional expertise in leading soldiers during both peacetime and wartime scenarios.

Recognitions and Honors:

Medals were awarded to cadets who exhibited exemplary performance during their training:

  • Adjutant Praneel Sharma: Received the gold medal for securing the first position in the overall order of merit.
  • Adjutant Digvijay Singh Panwar: Awarded the silver medal.
  • Academy Under Officer Shivam Minhas: Earned the bronze medal and the coveted ‘Sword of Honour’.

Post the PoP, a piping ceremony was held where cadets donned the stars on their shoulders, symbolizing their transition into commissioned officers. This event not only underscores the increasing role of women in the armed forces but also reflects the diverse representation from various states, showcasing the unity and strength of the Indian Army.
