Lt Khushboo From London School of Economics to Indian Army
As an inspiration to youths Lt Khushboo passed out from the Officers Training Academy (OTA) with flying colours. Graduating from the London School of Economics and Political Science would have fetched her fancy jobs in global organisations.
While her classmates landed in top notch companies, 24-year-old Khushboo Jain chose to join the armed forces.
Lt. Khushboo who hails from Coimbatore, completed her BCom (Honours) from Shri Ram College of Commerce at Delhi. Later she went on to pursue masters in economics and political science in the United Kingdom in 2016.
“I was a studious kid. I wanted to do something for the nation. So, when I was in London, I decided not to take up a corporate job in finance or marketing,” says Lt. Khushboo.
“I was the only Indian in my course. Many of my classmates joined international organisations, including the United Nations and the UK government,” she says.
“I did not want to do the corporate job, but wanted to dedicate myself to the nation. According to Khushboo joining the Army was the best decision of her life. She also added, training was tough but it moulded me into a better person.”
Lt. Kushboo was among the 183 cadets who participated in the passing out parade on the occasion of the commissioning of Short Service Commission course at OTA on Saturday.
As many as 12 men cadets and nine lady cadets from Bhutan, Seychelles, Maldives, Fiji and Uganda also graduated on the occasion.
